Letter to CBU Observers re Cancellation of Business Sessions of AGA

Mar 24, 2020 | News Releases

The Board of our Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) met on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and expressed concern for the tremendous uncertainty our industry and indeed our economies and our people face at this time of impact by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID 19). We implore all of you and your work and home families to take the necessary precautions and be well.

We also assessed the holding of the Annual General Assembly, AGA in August. We determined that even if public health conditions improved, reliable travel and confidence in travel will not immediately return, revenues will not immediately return, cancellation of business travel will not be quickly lifted and the unlikelihood of members, presenters, observers and exhibitors participating would not change.

Our Board therefore determined that we will cancel the Conference Sessions and events related to the AGA.

We believe these are prudent decisions to take and look forward to your participation in the 2021 AGA.
