(San Andres Island, San Andres, May 29) The Caribbean Broadcasting Union, CBU, in association with the public local TV  channel TELEISLAS of the Colombian Island of San Andres (Saint Andrew) launched its 50th General Assembly, which will be held on August 12-14 of this year.

The ceremony was headed by the governor of the archipelago, Admiral Juan Francisco Herrera Leal, Vice president of the CBU, Amalia Mai and the channel manager, Emiliana Bernard.

The CBU highlighted the importance of supporting the channels petition to host this event, as a young member of the association, in consideration of the islands cultural values that reflect true Caribbean authenticity.

Otherwise governor Herrera Leal offered institutional and administrative support to make a magnificent assembly in the trilingual islands that will be hosting all CBU members and special guests in 2019.
