The Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) like the region’s media and business communities has suffered a great loss with the death of friend and business partner Sir Fred Gollop. News of his death has created sadness and sorrow in the media fraternity.

Sir Fred was an honourable and decent man who freely and willingly offered his best counsel and advice to the Union throughout the years. He was a reliable and dependable partner to the CBU when it embarked upon the business venture which created the Caribbean Media Corporation.

Through the years, Sir Fred was tireless in his commitment to the development and continued existence of a strong regional media. His work with the CBU, especially through difficult times was strong and fully appreciated by the entire CBU family. He will be warmly remembered for the dignified and humble manner with which he served the media, Barbados and the region.

The CBU extends sympathies to Sir Fred’s family at this challenging time.
