CBU Caribbean Broadcasting Awards Entries now open – closing date April 30, 2016

CALL FOR ENTRIES: CARIBBEAN BROADCASTING AWARDS 2015

 

Eligible members of the CBU, are invited to begin submitting entries for the Caribbean Broadcasting Awards 2015.

 

The trophies, certificates and cash prizes will be handed out at a televised awards ceremony during the 47th Annual General Assembly in Havana, Cuba from October 24 to 27, 2016.

 

EXTENDED SUBMISSION DEADLINE

To ensure members have enough time to prepare their entries, the submission deadline has been extended by a month until midnight on April 30, 2016.

 

As a result, voting for the People’s Choice” Award will open on May 16 and run until July 31, 2016.  The winning television and radio entries will be selected by on-line polling on the CBU website www.caribroadcastunion.org.

 

 

SUBMIT ENTRIES ELECTRONICALLY

It will again be easier, faster and more cost-effective for members to submit entries, since the audio-visual files and completed entry forms can now be sent electronically to the corporate e-mail address info@caribroadcastunion.org.

 

 

NEW AWARDS CATEGORIES

There’s a new theme award added to the list for the 2015 Awards. The UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Area Office is sponsoring two awards, one each in radio and television, for items that embody Responsible Coverage of Children’s Issues.  Members in the following countries are eligible to enter this category: Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Barbados; the British Virgin Islands; Dominica; Montserrat; Grenada; St. Kitts & Nevis; St. Lucia; St. Vincent & the Grenadines; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks & Caicos Islands.

 

CBU members are also encouraged to submit radio and TV entries for the Agriculture award sponsored by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

 

 

INCREASED NUMBER OF ENTRIES PER MEMBER

And in response to a desire expressed by many organizations to increase their participation in the region’s premier media competition, the CBU will again accept the increased maximum number of entries per category from each member, five (5), up from three (3) in previous years.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

As a truly valued member and an active contributor to the success of the Union, CBU looks forward to your participation in the Awards. However, please note the rule limiting eligible entries to members in good financial standing.  Therefore, members are strongly encouraged to regularise their financial status as soon as possible.
