Virtual News Conference with UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Representative Dr. Aloys Kamarugiye

BUILDING RESILIENCE IN SUPPORT OF CHILDREN OF THE EASTERN & SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN
The Caribbean Broadcasting Union is pleased to host a virtual news conference for news teams from CBU members with the UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Representative, Dr Aloys Kamarugiye.
The webinar will take place via Zoom video-conference at 11.00 a.m. Eastern Caribbean time on Thursday May 31, 2018, one day before of the start of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season.
Dr Kamuragiye will update the media on the relief and recovery work UNICEF and its partners have undertaken in the Eastern Caribbean countries and territories, including Dominica, Anguilla and Barbuda, which were decimated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.

About the UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Representative
Dr Aloys Kamuragiye is currently the Representative of the UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Area Office located in Bridgetown, Barbados. Dr Kamuragiye, a national of Burundi, served as UNICEF Representative to Djibouti and Morocco and most recently the UNICEF Congo office in Brazzaville from August, 2013 to September, 2017, just before arriving in Barbados to take up his role on 1 November, 2017. Dr Kamuragiye is a medical doctor by profession, and a seasoned manager who is eager to advocate on behalf of children in the Eastern Caribbean area and promote policies to ensure the rights and wellbeing of boys and girls.
