Digital Broadcasting Caribbean Forum 2017

21 – 22 November 2017,

The Knutsford Court Hotel Jamaica, New Kingston, Jamaica

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) is pleased to invite members of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) to join the upcoming the Digital Broadcasting Caribbean Forum 2017, taking place from 21 to 22 November 2017 at The Knutsford Court Hotel Jamaica, 16 Chelsea Avenue, Kingston 5, New Kingston, Jamaica. This event is being organised by the CTO, hosted by Jamaica’s Broadcasting Commission and supported by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) and the CBU.

The Forum will be held under the theme “Reinventing broadcasting for a new generation”.

This event is a continuation of the successful Digital Broadcasting Switchover Forum the CTO has organised over the last decade. The new title for the event recognises the changes that have taken place in broadcasting during that time.

The Digital Broadcasting Caribbean Forum 2017 will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about successes in digital broadcasting, as well as the challenges posed for the future. Solutions to these challenges and the opportunities available for digital broadcasting will be examined through interactive sessions led by global knowledge leaders. The audience will be composed of policymakers, regulators, broadcasters, content developers, network infrastructure providers, operators, equipment manufacturers and opinion leaders.

This is a key event for stakeholders across the Caribbean, helping them to deal with many aspects of digital switchover, including:

  • State of play in DSO
  • International standards
  • Choosing a standard: Considerations and implications
  • Digital switchover case studies
  • Investing in the digital market
  • Convergence: Policy and regulatory issues
  • Spectrum policy options and approaches
  • Innovations in Broadcasting
  • Digital Radio
  • Future proofing public broadcasting

We are pleased to confirm that each CBU member is eligible to one (1) complimentary delegate pass, additional delegate passes can be purchased at a reduced CBU member rate. There are sponsorship opportunities available and options to appear in the Forum programme.

For further information and to confirm your participation, please feel free to contact Mr Robert Hayman, Manager, Events at r.hayman@cto.int or +44 (0)208 600 3805.
