CBU members are invited to register for the next session of the Union’s series of webinars on media technology.  The event, hosted by satellite solutions provider Eutelsat, takes place on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2.30 p.m. Eastern Caribbean time.

CBU launched the webinar series in March this year as a way of bringing recent developments in broadcasting technology into focus with regional media houses, and manufacturers offering solutions relevant to the region.

Earlier this year, CBU announced a partnership with Eutelsat to promote TV broadcasting in the Caribbean region, as satellites are a key component of the digital infrastructure transforming the TV landscape by delivering viewers improved image quality and channel diversity.

Video, Eutelsat’s most longstanding activity, accounts for two thirds of the Group’s business. Eutelsat’s market-leading neighbourhoods broadcast 6,800 TV channels, of which 1,200 are in HD, to more than one billion viewers around the globe.

Eutelsat is also the first exhibitor to sign up to showcase its products at this year’s CBU Annual General Assembly taking place in Kingston, Jamaica from August 13-15, under the theme, “Building Resilience to Climate Change: Business, Technology and Content Options for Caribbean Media.”

The theme of the June 6 webinar will be, “Driving Digitalization via Satellite – how hybrid distribution infrastructures accelerate the digital transformation”.

The feature presenter is Guillermo Haller Sánchez, Sales Director for the Central American and Caribbean region of Eutelsat Americas.  The webinar will be introduced by Christoph Limmer, Senior Vice-President, Commercial Development & Strategic Partnerships.

Interested CBU members are invited to contact the Secretariat at info@caribroadcastunion.org to register no later than 4.30 p.m. (Eastern Caribbean time) Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
